Marshall & Stevens established its Dallas-Fort Worth office in 2024 by merging with ValueScope, Inc., a distinguished valuation consulting, transaction advisory, and litigation support firm.

ValueScope enriches Marshall & Stevens’ financial valuation, financial reporting, Fairness Opinion, and litigation support capabilities while adding Quality of Earnings StudiesTransfer Pricing Studies, and business and healthcare consulting analyses. Their litigation consulting experts have extensive experience in tax controversies.

The ValueScope team is made up of experienced valuation experts, management consultants. and chartered financial analysts (“CFA”). They are CPAs, statisticians, creative and strategic thinkers, PhDs, board members, and former corporate executives.

Dallas-Fort Worth Leadership

Martin “Marty” Hanan, MBA, CFA, is the Founder and President of ValueScope. He has almost 40 years of experience in business valuation and transaction advisory. Prior to founding ValueScope in 2001, Marty founded Business Valuation Services (BVS) in 1987.

Peggy Hanan, MBA is the Chief Financial Officer of ValueScope. Prior to ValueScope, she held financial leadership positions at companies such as Business Valuation Services, Inc. and Texas Instruments.

Kimberly Bulls is the Chief Operating Officer at ValueScope. Prior to ValueScope, she held key leadership positions at KitchenAid/Whirlpool Corp, where she played a pivotal role as a National Account Manager.

Scott Hakala, PhD, CFA is a Managing Director at ValueScope. He is an expert in finance, economics, statistics, and business valuation theory. Prior to ValueScope, he held leadership roles at CBIZ Valuation Group, LLC.

Steve Hastings, MBA, CPA/ABV/CFF, CGMA, ASA, CVA is a Managing Director at ValueScope. Prior to ValueScope, he served for six years as a Finance Commissioner of Texas. He has expertise in both business financing and litigation support.

Brent Shockley, CFA, CVA is a Managing Director at ValueScope. He is experienced in business appraisal and valuation of underlying intangible assets for financial and tax reporting, merger and acquisition analyses, and litigation support.
