John Geraghty

John Geraghty is the National Practice Leader for the Energy & Infrastructure Practice at Marshall & Stevens. He is responsible for complex valuation, cost segregation, and transaction advisory analyses for domestic and multinational energy and infrastructure industry enterprises.

Clients served include utilities, independent power producers, project sponsors, infrastructure funds, bulge bracket investors, municipalities, and trusted advisors.

Energy industry engagements include analyses of portfolios of conventional and renewable energy generation, transmission, and distribution projects for buy/sell consideration, project finance and recapitalization, financial reporting, and tax reporting, including cost segregation, IRC 1060, and repowering (aka “80/20”).

Experience

Mr. Geraghty joined Marshall & Stevens as a Director in 2018. He was promoted to Managing Director in 2020, and National Practice Leader in 2023. His prior experience includes leadership roles at Vanguard Energy Partners, Strata Solar, and AT&T Finance.

While at AT&T Finance, Mr. Geraghty led one of the first solar project financing, SEGS VIII, in 1989. At the time, SEGS VIII was the largest solar electric generation system constructed to date. Other successful financings included projects in steel manufacturing, recycled pulp, automotive assembly, natural gas, and telecommunications terrestrial and intercontinental submarine fiber optic networks.
