Salt Lake City (South)

Marshall & Stevens extended its presence in Utah with the acquisition of Lone Peak Valuation Service (“Lone Peak”) in late 2023.

Lone Peak was founded in 2008 by alumni from “Big 4” audit firms and independent valuation firms. They are licensed CPA’s, many of whom hold multiple professional designations and have unique experience outside of the valuation industry. 

This team of professionals greatly enriched Marshall & Stevens’ capabilities in litigation support and in the valuation of business enterprises and intangible assets. They are relied upon to provide expert reports and testimony for commercial litigation, personal injury, divorce and family law matters, as well as valuations for tax and financial reporting.

Salt Lake City (South) Leadership

Rick Hoffman, CPA/ABV, Managing Director, leads the Salt Lake City (South) office. His expertise includes, but is not limited to, calculating economic damages related to commercial litigation. Mr. Hoffman joined Lone Peak in 2008.

Matt Germane, ABV, AM is a Managing Director at Lone Peak. His expertise includes, but is not limited to, commercial litigation, intellectual property, and class action lawsuits. Mr. Germane joined Lone Peak in 2011.

Cory Kennedy, CPA/ABV, MBA is a Managing Director at Lone Peak. His expertise includes, but is not limited to business valuation and family law. Mr. Kennedy joined Lone Peak in 2008.

Jeff Pickett, CPA/ABV, CFF, CFE is a Managing Director at Lone Peak. His expertise includes, but is not limited to, business and intellectual property valuations for transaction, income tax, gift and estate tax, financial reporting, and dispute purposes. Mr. Pickett joined Lone Peak in 2012.

Roger Smith, CPA/ABV, CFF is a Managing Director with Lone Peak. His expertise includes, but is not limited to, business and intellectual property valuation and commercial litigation support. Mr. Smith joined Lone Peak in 2008.
