Colin Welch

Colin Welch is a Director with Marshall & Stevens. He is responsible for deal origination and execution for founder-owned businesses and private-equity clients across business services, tech-enabled services, media & entertainment, and software and AI. He also supports Marshall & Stevens’ corporate development function, originating and executing transactions to grow geographic footprint and service offering.

Over his nine-year investment banking career, he has closed over $1.2 billion in M&A transaction value across sell-side, buy-side, asset divestitures, and Section 363 sales. Recently, he supported the $205 million sale of a founder-owned industrial software distributor to a private-equity firm, as well as the $185 million sale of a founder-owned application software company to a strategic buyer.

Prior to joining Marshall & Stevens, he served as a Vice President at B. Riley Securities, where he executed a diverse range of transactions including leveraged buyouts, asset sales, mergers, growth equity, and debt capital raises. He started his career at Imperial Capital, a middle-market investment bank headquartered in Los Angeles.

He graduated with a degree in economics and a minor in accounting from the University of California, San Diego. He holds his Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.
