Background
Wayne Horvath, MAI, is a Managing Director at Marshall & Stevens with more than 20 years of national real estate valuation and advisory experience. He is a recognized valuation leader with deep expertise across office, industrial, multifamily, retail, hospitality, land, and complex special-purpose properties, serving various institutional investors, REITs, private equity firms, law firms, lenders, and public entities, among others.
Prior to joining Marshall & Stevens, Mr. Horvath served as Managing Director and National Practice Leader at BDO USA, where he led the firm’s Real Estate Valuation and Capital Market Analysis practice. In that role, he was responsible for strategic growth initiatives, budgeting and forecasting, talent development, quality control, and client engagement across the United States, while also broadening service offerings and improving operational efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Horvath held senior leadership roles at Duff & Phelps (now Kroll) and American Appraisal, where he managed regional offices, and led large-scale institutional portfolio valuations. He has extensive experience overseeing complex, multi-asset engagements, reviewing and authorizing final deliverables, and advising clients on all valuation matters including, financial reporting, gift and estate planning, tax appeals, and various litigation support matters.
Mr. Horvath is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser licensed in multiple jurisdictions and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He is a member of NAREIT and NCREIF and is an active member of the NCREIF Valuation Committee. He earned his degree magna cum laude and with highest honors from Rutgers University’s Edward J. Bloustein School, with a concentration in Urban Planning and Public Policy and a minor in Economics.
